Dear Sir or Madam,

 

Our names are Janice Lee and Hardip Gill, and we are in the seventh grade at Summit Middle School in Coquitlam, B.C., Canada. Currently, we are participating in an in-depth Social Studies project that involves the study of specific countries. We are pleased to announce that we will become experts on Guam, one of the territories of United States. Over the next three months, we hope to learn all about the culture and geography of this country. In April, we will be publishing our project and participating in a huge fair called “World Wanderers.”

 

When our teacher, Ms. Plesha (jplesha@sd43.bc.ca), introduced this project to our class, we knew immediately that we wanted to choose Guam for this unit of study. We are sending this letter to the embassy of the United States instead of the embassy of Guam since there is no embassy of Guam nearby. We know that Guam is one of U.S’s five territories. Both of us thought after looking at all of the pictures of Guam that we wanted to study this country for our project since the view of Guam was very eye-catching and fascinating.

 

It would be very much appreciated if you could send us any information pertaining to Guam. Pamphlets, brochures and posters would be great! Not only would they provide us with information to help us complete our project, but we could also add them to our finished display.
